Company Profile
Ace Builders is a mid-sized construction company based in Dallas, Texas. The company specializes in residential and commercial construction projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality, energy-efficient buildings. As part of its growth strategy, Ace Builders sought to enhance its digital presence to attract new clients, display their portfolio, and provide an easy-to-use platform for potential customers to request quotes and inquire about their services.
Project Goals
The primary goal of this project was to build a professional, user-friendly WordPress website using the LAMP stack. The website needed to showcase Ace Builders’ portfolio, include a blog for construction tips, and offer potential clients an easy way to request estimates. The website also needed to be SEO-friendly and mobile-responsive to ensure maximum visibility across all devices.
Client Needs
Ace Builders needed a solution that:
- Showcased their projects: A portfolio section that could be easily updated with new projects.
- Improved customer engagement: Forms for customers to request quotes and ask for information.
- Mobile-friendly design: A responsive design that worked seamlessly across devices.
- SEO optimization: Ensure the site ranks well in search engine results to attract organic traffic.
- User-friendly CMS: An intuitive content management system (CMS) that could be managed by non-technical staff.
Duration
The project was completed over a 5-week period.
Engineers Deployed
Three engineers were involved:
- One backend engineer for LAMP stack setup.
- One frontend developer for WordPress customization and responsive design.
- One DevOps engineer to ensure proper server and security configuration.
Technologies Used
- Server Platform: Linux (Ubuntu)
- Web Server: Apache
- Database: MySQL
- Backend Language: PHP
- CMS: WordPress
- Version Control: GitHub for source code management
- Hosting: AWS for scalable infrastructure and S3 for static asset storage
Challenges and Solutions
One major challenge was integrating the website with third-party tools like Google Analytics and a lead management system. The solution was to implement custom plugins and APIs, allowing seamless integration with the client’s internal CRM system.
Another challenge was ensuring the website would handle heavy traffic spikes during promotions or major project launches. By leveraging AWS and configuring load balancing, the team ensured the site would scale according to demand without impacting performance.
Security was also a concern, as the client collected sensitive information through the quote request forms. SAS implemented SSL certificates, reCAPTCHA, and stringent backend security measures to protect against attacks.
Results
- 30% increase in inbound leads within two months of launch.
- 50% reduction in time spent managing the website, as staff could easily update content using WordPress.
- The website received positive feedback from both existing and potential customers for its clean design and ease of use.
